Data Use Policy

The Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM) of Dickinson College is dedicated to empowering communities and individuals with scientific tools to assess the health of their waterways and use those data to participate in local decision making. ALLARM works with volunteers to collect stream health data where shale gas extraction is taking place. This database aims to provide volunteer monitors with a centralized location to manage, interpret, and use the data collected through ALLARM’s Shale Gas Monitoring Program. In the spirit of open access, the data collected by volunteer monitors through the system are available for public use via this website. Data are available for download and use, regardless of membership to the site itself. We request that those using data acknowledge the source(s) of the data.
